Hard-Bop pioneer, Horace Silver, who played with Art Blakey and Hank Mobley, sadly passed away on Wednesday, June 18th, aged 85.

Horace, who played piano and saxophone, went on to release a substantial amount of material, over a period of 30 years, on the iconic Blue Note Recordings label, which will be celebrating its 75th anniversary this year.
