JAMES LAVELLE AND ALEX GRAZIOLI IN CONVERSATION AT SHINEBRIGHT STUDIO

unnamed

Last Wednesday night saw James Lavelle (a guy who needs no introduction, really) take to Shinebright Studio for a candid chat about his seminal ‘90s record label Mo’Wax, cultural inspirations and his career in music to date. Initially interviewed by acclaimed Italian photographer/filmmaker Alex Grazioli before opening up the floor to a Q&A session, the event was a must for any serious Mo’Wax head – or anyone with a passing interest in Lavelle’s investment in the music industry over the past 21 years. Speaking of milestones, 2014 has been a big year for the musician; he released a book, Urban Archeology, and opened an exhibition at the Southbank Centre – both of which take a retrospective look at Mo’Wax for the label’s 21st anniversary. Both of these tied in with Meltdown Festival, which he curated this year.
